Thoughts on a Tree
Today I went for a short bike ride. I went to my favorite spot on the lake by my house. I sat and looked at a tree. This tree is affected by a parasite. How ever what I noticed about the tree was this. It was standing in the middle of the lake, its roots submerged in the water. Yet it was dead. This made me think of a lot of Christians. They are surrounded by Water but they are sill dead. There is an internal parasite that is sucking them dry. They stand in water but have not life, and have no function except to allow birds of prey to nest in them. There is no vitality and they are a shell of their former selves.

Although that tree stands tall and strong it has no idea that it is dead! Just like so many of us today - we stand firm, we stand tall, or sometimes we just stand - we are all guilty of standing and standing wrong we do not even reallze that are roots( souls) are dead! I call it denial I wonder what others call it!
